It’s that time again, my monthly recap of my writing progress, interesting articles, videos, and podcasts I read/watched/listened to, and books I finished. Check out the past installments here.
June 14 saw the one-year anniversary of the release of Guild of Tokens: Initiate. And June 25 marked the release of the full Guild of Tokens book. Launch week is still in full swing, so I’ll have some reflections up next month.
Writing update
Guild of Tokens is out! You can get it in ebook and paperback on Amazon, and the audiobook will be out this fall. Here’s a wrap-up of all the Guild of Tokens-related news from the past month.
- Nick Borrelli hosted the cover reveal over on Out of This World SFF Reviews.
- I (virtually) sat down with the narrator for Guild of Tokens, Tavia Gilbert, to talk about her road to being an award-winning audiobook narrator, her upcoming audio drama podcast, and much more!
- Guild of Tokens: Enforcer, also narrated by Tavia, came out earlier this month. You can get it for free by signing up for my newsletter.
- I was featured on Before We Go Blog’s Indie Spotlight, where I talked about the origins of Guild of Tokens.
- Guild of Tokens is officially an entrant in the fifth Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off (SPFBO)!
Links and things
- Facebook, Libra, and the Long Game
- Last month I showcased Jimmy Maher’s excellent LucasArts history. This month, he followed up with posts one two more of my favorite games: Day of the Tentacle and Sam and Max Hit the Road.
- I took my kids to see Detective Pikachu and they absolutely loved it! At one point, (Detective) Pikachu starts sadly singing the Pokemon anime theme song and I looked over to see my son laughing hysterically. #TheTwoFriends over on the Blank Check podcast did a great interview with the screenwriters of the film.
